“At the first meeting Harriet, the spatial design director, brought with her a photograph of a toolbox. The toolbox represents Studio Four23 and how the individual tools each have their own role, each their own specialist ability to help craft and build. That brass and oak toolbox became our studio,” said Tani Burns from Studio Four23.

“The space is also a reflection of the building’s history. The black Crittal windows that wrap 360 degrees around the space and bare brick walls were all in place from the building days as a precious metal workshop,” add the design director Harriet Paterson.

To capture the essence of the object of inspiration they choose materials as wood, brass and steel, achieving that way an industrial design.

Inviting people to interact with the ambiance, they combined tactile textures, from an Arno Jacobsen door handle to heavy-grained large oak desks, intending to people to feel and touch them. At the final design, they also add an abundance of green plants, also scattered throughout the space, contrasting with the industrial interiors.
